Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, South Australia 2023

First produced back in 1954, this benchmark wine is now on its 68th vintage following the latest release of the 2023. As ever, it is only produced the top quality 20 to 25 percent of Cabernet Sauvignon fruit grown in Wynns famed ‘terra rossa’ vineyards. Once again, it is a classically styled and impeccably made rendition with a bright floral and cassis nose. This flavour spectrum of violets, blackcurrant and raspberry continues onto the medium-weight palate with delicious acidity and refined tannins. This is good to go now but will easily reward another eight to ten years in the cellar.
