This is Wynns’ top of the range Shiraz (named after David Wynn’s young son) and is exclusively sourced from its very best Coonawarra plots. Plus it is only made in the best vintages. A sensationally good 2022, this has a vibrant purple colour at this early stage and comes with a complex primary nose of iris, bramble and blueberry. Once again, it is exquisitely balanced and harmonious with deft, dusty tannins and pinpoint acidity. Sweet blackberry and dark plum fruits seduce the palate with black pepper, spice, cream, leather and a subtle backdrop of vanilla. This layered, complex, mid-structured and inviting wine also comes with a long and appealing finish. It is ready now but will also age for another quarter of a century.
