▴ Las Pizarras 2016 Pinot Noir

Las Pizarras 2016, Pinot Noir, Aconcagua Costa, Chile

A stunning coastal wine from the Errázuriz/Viña Familia Chadwick stable that has quickly established itself as one of South America’s finest cool climate Pinot Noirs. The 2016 is still full of primary fruit with just a hint of bottle age softening. Crafted by winemaker Francisco Baettig, this is beautifully aromatic on the nose and is equally impressive on the palate with its intense raspberry and cherry fruit. Ripe, fine grained tannins and a fabulous spine of acidity keeps this taut and pure from first sip to last drop. Delicious now, but probably still not yet at its peak.
